A spectacular "Palette of the Earth" tulip display has taken shape at TOP Central Park in Putuo District, offering Shanghai residents an early spring visual feast.
The sprawling floral artwork, covering 14,000 square meters—an area roughly equivalent to two standard football fields—is created from 18 varieties of tulips and is about to enter its most beautiful phase.
Leveraging the park's undulating terrain, the tulips are planted in layers along the slopes. Viewed from above, the pink, red, orange, and purple blooms are masterfully arranged to resemble flowing ribbons of color, forming a stunning three-dimensional landscape.
To enhance the visual effect, low-growing purple grape hyacinths and blue-violet violas have been planted along the main pathways. This thoughtful combination not only expands the color palette but also adds depth and texture to the overall scenery.
All bulbs for this new tulip display were planted by December 25 of last year. The design continues the park's signature "floating clouds and flowing water" aesthetic, presenting a piece of land art that serves as a perfect spring photo spot for the public.
According to park authorities, the optimal viewing period for the tulips will last about three weeks, during which time the entire sea of flowers will showcase its most brilliant colors.
