With the full bloom of Kawazu cherry blossoms, the early spring cherry blossom viewing season in Putuo District has quietly begun.
Changhe Green Space, located between Zhennan Road and Qilianshan Road, marks the highlight of this season. As the public green area in Putuo with the highest planting density of Kawazu cherry trees, it hosts about 400 cherry trees of various species.
Currently in its peak flowering period, the area is adorned with pink blossoms covering the branches. From a distance, the rows of cherry trees merge into a sea of flowers, resembling rosy clouds and a splash of sunset glow. Due to the green space's proximity to a river, the blossoms are complemented by the waterside scenery, creating a picturesque scene that feels like walking through a pink "waterfall of flowers."
In Changhe Green Space, the cherry trees are planted in large groups to create a "sea of flowers" effect. Meanwhile, clusters of trees along the riverbank are dotted among the lawns and water systems, creating a landscape that is both well-arranged and cohesive.
Over the next month, as different varieties of cherry blossoms bloom one after another, the space will enter a better viewing period.
An official from Putuo's landscaping department said that the coming weeks are the golden time for cherry blossom viewing, with blossoms in various parks and green spaces throughout the district opening in succession. Residents are encouraged to plan their outings according to the blooming schedules to encounter the unexpected beauty of spring.
