The 20th China International Comics & Games Expo (CCG Expo 2025) has opened at the Shanghai Convention and Exhibition Center of International Sourcing in Putuo District.

It marks the thrilling start of the inaugural Shanghai International Animation and Game Carnival Month.

The expo unites three major events – CCG Expo, Bilibili World, and ChinaJoy – creating an unprecedented synergy within Shanghai's pop culture scene.

The CCG Expo will run through July 6, attracting 480 exhibitors from countries including Japan, the Philippines, Mexico and Russia.

Special features include an independent games section, a tabletop games area, and the debut of the Shanghai International Tabletop Game Competition, showcasing more than 100 global designers and nearly 300 creative studios.

As a core component of the Animation and Game Carnival Month, CCG Expo expands its footprint beyond the main venue. It introduces the "Animation and Game Corridor" along the Suzhou Creek waterfront, featuring themed bridges and boats.

This includes personified characters representing the historic bridges of Suzhou Creek. The first character, "Jiangning" (based on Jiangning Road Bridge), debuted at the Expo. Plans include developing characters for all 48 bridges, and launching AR-enhanced Suzhou Creek tours.

Two themed Suzhou Creek cruise boats, featuring the hit game Arknights and the official CCG Expo mascot Zi Ling, will sail between Changfeng Park wharf and Waitanyuan wharf. Passing landmarks like Mengqing Garden and the East China University of Political Science and Law waterfront, they offer immersive voyages with four daily departures during the expo.

The initiative actively links 18 major commercial hubs including Bailian ZX Creative Center, Jing'an Joy City, Metro City, Global Harbor, and Wujiaochang, alongside themed hotels.
