The Diamond Jewelry Industry Ecosystem Innovation Conference and the China Diamond Platform (CDP) were launched in Putuo District on June 28, marking a significant leap in the digital transformation of China's diamond trade.
Jointly established by industry leaders including the Shanghai Diamond Exchange (SDE), National Gemstone Testing Center (NGTC), Vland Cloud Innovation, and SunRiver Capital, CDP emerges as China's first specialized digital platform for diamond recycling and jewelry derivative trading.
In a strategic move, SDE announced its collaboration with Putuo District to develop a diamond museum, envisioned as the cornerstone of future jewelry-themed cultural tourism that will elevate Shanghai's status as a global diamond hub.
Putuo District is currently implementing its "one core, dual wings" development strategy to reshape the luxury industry landscape. This model positions the diamond museum as the cultural nucleus, supported by an industrial wing for supply chain enhancement and a consumption wing fostering experiential retail innovation. The blueprint includes establishing an international diamond digital trading center and creating immersive fashion destinations.
The conference witnessed three landmark signings: the Diamond Jewelry Fashion Block strategic partnership, NGTC selection platform alliance, and diamond museum cooperation agreement. Notably, global and domestic powerhouses like the Natural Diamond Council (NDC), NGTC Shanghai, KGK Diamonds, TTF Haute Joaillerie, Gemasia, V&V Diamonds, Jinghua Diamond, and SunRiver Capital formally committed to Putuo's emerging ecosystem. This convergence of international brands and local innovators aims to forge a synergistic industrial cluster.
