Suzhou Creek cruise rolls out film festival discounts & new celebrity route

June 11, 2025 |

According to Shanghai Jiushi Suzhou Creek Tourism Development Co Ltd, the Suzhou Creek cruise service has partnered with the Shanghai International Film and TV Festival organizing committee to launch a promotional campaign during the upcoming film festival, tapping into the "ticket stub economy."

The promotion is simple to use: Visitors can purchase exclusive tickets directly on the "You You Suzhou Creek" mini-program by presenting their 2025 festival guest pass or a physical movie ticket stub from the Shanghai International Film Festival.

From June 13 to June 27, excluding dining and music themed cruises, all 30-minute cruise tickets will be priced at 51 yuan (US$7.09) per person (originally 60 yuan), 60-minute cruises at 85 yuan per person (originally 100 yuan), and 90-minute cruises at 136 yuan per person (originally 160 yuan)—equivalent to a 15 percent discount.

Passengers are reminded to bring their festival guest pass or physical ticket stub, along with their ID card, for verification before boarding. Each ticket stub can only be used once per cruise.

In related news, a video posted on the Ministry of Ecology and Environment’s official account, featuring actor Hu Ge as an eco-environment special observer, has gone viral. In the video, Hu takes viewers on a Suzhou Creek cruise, showcasing the river’s transformation over the years. Capitalizing on this popularity, the cruise service has introduced a new 20-minute route called "Hu Ge’s Route: Corridor of Time."

This new route highlights the best-preserved industrial heritage and modern creative landmarks along Suzhou Creek. Passengers can board at either Changhua Road Pier or Sihang Warehouse Pier, passing iconic sites such as Tian An 1000 Trees, M50 Creative Park, the former Fuxin Flour Mill, and the Sihang Warehouse Memorial. The round trip costs just 30 yuan per person.
