Putuo District organized the "Strolling Putuo, Decoding the Future" event on April 15 for foreign executives to explore the district.
Representatives from eight foreign enterprises from the United Kingdom, France, Germany, Spain, and other countries gathered for a CityWalk.
On a sunny spring afternoon, the foreign executives strolled along the Changfeng section of the "Half-Marathon Suzhou Creek," experiencing everything from the modern energy of the yacht marina to the historical richness of local brands. They immersed themselves in the ecological beauty of the Half-Marathon Suzhou Creek Park, gaining an up-close look at Putuo's urban charm and development potential.
"Whether it's the cityscape or the business environment, Shanghai keeps getting better year after year," said Asier Bideguren, general manager of GH (Shanghai) Lifting Equipment Co Ltd, who has lived in China for 12 years and in Shanghai for five years.
Also impressed by Shanghai’s vibrant business climate was Caig Mille, partner and Shanghai head of Heatherwicks Studio Ltd.
"Putuo is a fascinating district—blending nostalgic neighborhoods with modern architecture, all while offering convenient transportation. It’s an ideal innovation hub for international business," he said.
During the exchange session, the foreign executives spoke freely about Putuo’s business environment, supportive policies, and their companies’ current growth.
This event marked the first "Government Open Day" hosted this year by the district’s commerce commission, specifically tailored for foreign enterprises.
