The first two pilot scenarios of Shanghai's Quantum City initiative commenced their roadshow on March 12, with the earliest demonstrations set to begin at the end of March in Caoyang New Village, Putuo District.
"Quantum City" is an abstract concept that leverages quantum theory to create a digital system that integrates time and space, blending the virtual with the real. It represents Shanghai's exploration into using artificial intelligence technology to empower new models of governance in a megacity.
Through "Quantum City," all spatial resource data of Shanghai can be input into a large model, creating a "virtual city." Based on the developmental needs of the real city, government departments can extract relevant data from the "virtual city" and, using AI models, conduct simulation exercises and real-time feedback. The results are then fed back into the real city for improvements and transformations.
On December 13, 2024, the Shanghai Quantum City Space-Time Intelligence Innovation Base officially opened, planning to implement 28 application scenarios, with the first six pilot scenarios being introduced initially.
The first pilot scenarios in this roadshow are "Treasure of Good Life in Your Palm" and "Smart Gas Network."
"Treasure of Good Life in Your Palm" is a product designed by Quantum City based on the "15-minute community living circle" scenario. It digitally upgrades community services such as clothing, food, housing, and transportation to enhance the accessibility, convenience, and accuracy of community services.
The "Treasure of Good Life in Your Palm" application is expected to be piloted in Caoyang New Village on March 30 and is anticipated to be launched in pilot subdistricts across all districts of the city by September 30 this year.
"Smart Gas Network" creates an enabling platform for the smart gas network to monitor the spatial location and safety dynamics of gas pipelines in real time. This scenario will first be developed in Caoyang New Village as a pilot.
