On New Year's Day, Putuo District officially launched foreign-related marriage registration services, with two international couples tying the knot in Putuo.

Starting from January 1, 2025, residents with a permanent household registration in Putuo can handle marriage registration services involving foreigners, residents of Hong Kong, Macao, and Taiwan, and overseas Chinese right at their doorstep. 

The Putuo District Marriage Registration Center has set up bilingual Chinese-English signs on each floor, placed bilingual information sheets, posted foreign-related business promotional posters, replaced window prompt signs with unified ones, established a dedicated window for foreign-related registrations, and established a pre-audit mechanism, all to provide professional and thoughtful services for international couples.

On New Year's Day, Putuo District initiated bilingual Chinese-English marriage registration and certification. Two international couples, one couple consisting of a Canadian and a Chinese national and the other couple consisting of a Japanese and a Chinese national, with both Chinese nationals being Putuo residents, successfully completed their marriage registration.

On that day, Putuo District processed a total of 78 marriage registrations, including two foreign-related registrations and 34 cross-province registrations.
