In the first half of this year, the life and health industry in Taopu Town, achieved a tax revenue of 750 million yuan (US$104.60 million), accounting for 52.32 percent of Putuo District's life and health industry, with a year-on-year growth rate of 43.61 percent.

On June 18, the life and health incubation base of National Science and Technology Park of Tongji University, spanning nearly 5,000 square meters, was officially inaugurated in the Liziyuan Building in Taopu Town. Concurrently, the Tongji Science Park life and health public R&D service platform was also opened to social enterprises. 

Resources from Tongji University Medical School, including large-scale analytical instruments and experimental animal center research resources, valued at nearly 1 billion yuan, will be precisely linked through the Tongji Science Park Putuo Park to meet the R&D needs of life and health enterprises. This initiative is the first of its kind in the city.

Shanghai Shijiang Pharmaceutical Technology Co Ltd, the first Class 1 innovative drug R&D enterprise in Putuo District, and other pioneering science and technology enterprises led by professors from Tongji University Medical School, have officially signed contracts to settle in the incubation base of National Science and Technology Park of Tongji University.

In the first half of this year, Shanghai Fuerjia Technology Development Co Ltd, a high-tech medical beauty enterprise with tax revenues over 100 million yuan, officially settled in Taopu Town, becoming a "new star" in the regional life and health industry.

Since the beginning of this year, Fuerjia Technology has accumulated more than 200 million yuan in production taxes and has also introduced a branch of a listed company to Taopu Town.

Going forward, Taopu Town will leverage the advantages of local leading intelligent manufacturing enterprises to accelerate project cultivation in existing fields such as vascular intervention and imaging equipment, focusing on high-end medical devices.
