Six companies focusing on integrated circuits, artificial intelligence, new energy and robotics signed a letter of intent for cooperation with Putuo District on Thursday at the global science and innovation roadshow for strategic emerging industry projects held at the International Innovation Center of Tsinghua University, Shanghai.

The Tsinghua innovation center, a new type of research and development institution jointly established by the Shanghai Municipal Government and Tsinghua University, has been committed to attracting top scientific research teams and cutting-edge technological achievements to the region since its establishment. 

From January to May this year, the center has successfully attracted seven science and innovation enterprises to Putuo.

"We have held five sessions of the science and innovation roadshow focusing on strategic emerging industries over the past two years. Out of 21 projects, 10 have settled in Putuo. The center has played an important role to attract technological and innovative companies for regional development," said Zhou Qingfeng, Party secretary of the Tsinghua innovation center.
