After a year of construction, the Suzhou Creek Half-Marathon Park (Riverside Park Phase II) has recently opened to the public. This park is the largest park opened in Putuo District since 2023, covering an area of 46,000 square meters, according to the Putuo District Landscaping and City Appearance Administrative Bureau.
Located at Qianyang Road and Guangfu Road W., the Phase II of Riverside Park is the western extension of the overall planning of the Suzhou Creek Half-Marathon Park, starting from Zhenguang Road Bridge in the east and extending to the Shanghai Trade School in the west.
The riverside greenway seamlessly connects to the Changfeng section of the Suzhou Creek Half-Marathon Park and the Jiande Riverside Park.
"The park is positioned as an urban open space for citizens along the Suzhou Creek in Putuo District. It is also a children-friendly park with safe children's activity spaces," said Zhang Jing, deputy director of the bureau’s landscape construction section.
In addition to the abundant plants and recreational facilities in Riverside Park Phase II, the bureau deliberately incorporated two details to enhance visitors’ experience.
One is a sandpit and waterfront platform specially designed for children, which is the largest sandpit along the Putuo section of the Suzhou Creek, covering an area of 1,100 square meters. The other is a camping lawn with an area of approximately 2,200 square meters, catering to the preferences of families who enjoy outings.
