On September 10, Putuo District held a celebration for the 40th Teachers' Day. District Party Secretary Jiang Dongdong, District Political Consultative Conference Chairman Hang Chunfang, Deputy Party Secretary Zhou Yan, and Deputy District Director Wang Jue attended the event. Prior to the event, Jiang and his delegation visited outstanding teachers from the district's education system and extended holiday greetings.
The district education bureau's Party and government leadership team, bureau officials, grassroots unit leaders, and outstanding teacher representatives participated in the event. Various educational units across the district watched the event simultaneously through an online live broadcast platform.
Jiang, on behalf of the district's four major leadership groups, extended holiday greetings to all teachers and education workers in the district and warmly congratulated the individuals who were honored. He fully affirmed the achievements made by the district's education system in recent years and hoped that all teachers in the district would adhere to their original intentions, educate students with care, and engage in scholarly research. He encouraged them to be ambitious, talented, and virtuous educators, taking on the heavy responsibility of high-quality education development in Putuo with a more vigorous and proactive attitude. He stated that the district's education system should find the entry point for educational reform and innovation, continue to expand the supply of quality services, and optimize the layout of educational resources. The district Party committee and government will implement pro-teacher policies with greater intensity, provide warm services for teachers, promote strong teacher initiatives, and create a respectful atmosphere for teachers, aiming to achieve a "high score" in the education sector to welcome the 75th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China.
Hu Jun, on behalf of the district's education work party committee and the education bureau, delivered a speech. In recent years, Putuo has taken the lead in the city in successfully creating a national quality balanced development area for compulsory education and a national popularization and benefit area for preschool education, bravely venturing into the "deep water area" of comprehensive educational reform. Focusing on the foundational project of teacher team construction, Putuo has built a high-level and high-quality leading team, cultivating 82 senior teachers, 26 Shanghai Municipal Level Principals and Secretaries, and 45 Shanghai Municipal Level Distinguished Teachers. She encouraged the "reliable" educators to take the inheritance and promotion of the educator's spirit as their driving force, aspiring to become great teachers for the nation and the strong country, and to jointly write a new beautiful chapter of high-quality education development in Putuo.
During the "14th Five-Year Plan" period, Putuo deeply implemented the "763" Talent Climbing Plan of the Putuo District Education System, forming a "strong magnetic field" for the gathering of high-level talents, with a group of outstanding teachers stepping onto municipal and even national platforms. At the event, Zhao Ping, deputy secretary of the District Education Work Party Committee and director of the Education Bureau, read out the "2024 Putuo District Education System Advanced Individual Commendation List."
The event commended advanced individuals from the 2024 National Education System, National Outstanding Teachers, 2024 Shanghai Municipal Level Principals, 2023 Senior Teachers in Primary and Secondary Schools, 2024 Shanghai Municipal Level Excellent Educators, and Shanghai May 1st Labor Medal winners, among other advanced teacher models. These commendations aim to inspire educators to promote and practice the spirit of educators, strive to be good teachers and "great teachers," and take on the mission and responsibility of building a strong educational nation.
With graying hair witnessing the long years and youthful dedication to their mission, five retired teachers who have been in the Putuo education field for forty years shared their teaching experiences and educational philosophies. All five teachers are senior teachers and Shanghai Municipal Level Distinguished Teachers, who have been dedicated to their work and have many outstanding students. At the event, their apprentices presented flowers to the retired teachers, expressing gratitude and blessings.
The tradition of teaching is passed down, and education is nurtured with craftsmanship. This year, a new group of teachers joined the Putuo education family, taking up the baton of the educational cause. At the event, veteran teachers led new teacher representatives in taking the oath of office.
To fully display the proactive and confident spirit of Putuo teachers, the event specially planned the "Singing • Reliable Teachers — Education Consortium Chorus Exhibition." Ten chorus groups from the entire system sang with clear and pleasant voices, expressing the touching feelings of "great teachers of the country," and paying tribute to the 75th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China.
The event concluded with the song from the District Education System Party and Government Cadre Leading Goose Chorus, with more than 50 secretaries and principals from grassroots schools in the district singing "I Love You, China" and "Reliable Teachers," inspiring "reliable" educators to take on their responsibilities and missions.
As the 40th Teachers' Day approaches, all reliable educators pay tribute to educators and offer gifts to the motherland with their songs.
