City’s first pink Kinetic Zone draws female fitness enthusiasts

March 10, 2023 |

In recent years, as women’s participation in sports has increased, there has been a rise in “she power” in world sports.

However, in the more masculine world of fitness, it is not always easy for women to find a space that is suitable and exclusive to them.

In the South Square of Shanghai West Station, a pink Kinetic Zone has been attracting a large number of female fitness enthusiasts to hit the floor. Rucker Park has opened its first Super Flamingo shared exercise and dance room, which is also the first shared exercise and dance room in Shanghai specifically for women where they can practice pilates, jazz dance, aerial yoga, etc.

One can book a class through the JiuHui shared exercise room app, and the “shared” mode of “sharing” exercise and dance is based on the pay-per-use model, with a fee of 50 yuan (US$7.18) per class, allowing consumers to “move” anytime, anywhere, and fully enjoy the joy of fitness.

Entering the Super Flamingo is like entering a sea of pink, as visitors are surrounded by pink feather decorations, pink gym equipment, and pink wall decorations. The area contains a jumping gym and yoga gym, creating a happy and joyful fitness atmosphere through lighting and music.

“We want to inspire more girls to come here to work out,” said Zou Xin’er, head of Super Flamingo at Shanghai West Station in Putuo District.
