Putuo District launched a variety of cultural tourism activities during the recent Spring Festival holiday.
Statistics show that from January 21 to 27, these activities and events received nearly 117,000 visitors, recovering to the level of the same period in 2019 before the COVID-19 pandemic.
During the weeklong holiday, 17 public cultural venues in Putuo carried out a total of 87 cultural activities, receiving 26,000 people offline and 160,000 people participating in online activities. This represents a 27 percent increase in the number of venues and a 186 percent increase in the number of people received offline compared to the same period in 2019.
Major travel agencies in the district also arranged various tourism products, and the tourism market showed an accelerated recovery trend. For example, big hotels in Putuo received nearly 10,000 guests with revenue of nearly 4 million yuan (US$595,600), an increase of over 20 percent year-on-year.
For example, the Suzhou Creek cruise became very popular, and Hong Zhaohui, general manager of the cruise operator Jiushi Suzhou Creek Tourism Co, said that a total of 183 tours were operated over the seven days of the holiday, with an attendance rate of over 90 percent.
