The Shanghai Putuo People’s Court set up its intellectual property circuit court at the China-Israel Innovation Hub (Shanghai) in Taopu Smart City yesterday.

Cao Liqiang, Party secretary of Putuo District, and Zhang Bin, deputy director of the Shanghai Higher People’s Court, attended the opening ceremony with other officials of the politics and law departments in Shanghai.

The China-Israel Innovation Hub (Shanghai) was launched at the Taopu Smart City in Putuo during a ceremony at Hero World last May.

Hero World is at the renovated former site of the Shanghai Hero Pen Factory. Hero is one of China’s time-honored brands.

The Shanghai Innovation Center (Haifa), China-Israel (Shanghai) Innovation Park Company and the China-Israel (Shanghai) Innovation Investment Fund were also unveiled.

The first batch of well-known enterprises and institutions, including Israeli incubators Trendlines and StartupEast as well as China’s National Eastern Tech-Transfer Center and PricewaterhouseCoopers, signed contracts to set up bases in the innovation park, targeted to serve the Yangtze River Delta region and radiate across China.

The Intellectual Property Court of China’s Supreme People’s Court opened its first circuit trial on July 23, 2019, at the SPC’s Third Circuit Court in Nanjing, eastern China’s Jiangsu Province.
