The construction of the second phase of Taopu Smart City was launched in Putuo District today.
With a combined construction area of 545,000 square meters, the project involves constructing offices and scientific research zones with a garden environment on two parcels of land.
Putuo District will strengthen cooperation with Lingang Group, Shanghai Huayi Group and Shanghai Construction Group to push forward the development of the local economy and the scientific and technological innovation of the China-Israel Innovation Hub, Cao Liqiang, Party secretary of Putuo, said.
The hub is expected to make Putuo’s Taopu area on par with Zhangjiang Technology City in the Pudong New Area as a key center for the development of Shanghai as a technology and innovation center.
To support the companies based in the innovation hub, Putuo will accelerate infrastructure construction around the center to improve the environment, along with up-market commercial and talent apartments, education and medical services, ecological construction and community centers.
