19 spots along Suzhou Creek to be cleared out

November 29, 2019 |

Altogether 19 spots in the Putuo section along the Suzhou Creek waterfront, which totals 21 kilometers and accounts for half of the urban stretch, will be cleared out by the end of the year.

The work began last October to build flood prevention and security facilities, expand greenery and build landmark structures with the aim of improving the space utilization rate and make a complete riverside landscape.

After that local authorities will set out work to set up cultural clusters, piers and other scenic spots that better blend with the ecological environment.

The M50 Creative Park, for example, which opened in the riverfront area, set up an industrial art square, a plank road and a platform that integrates the sites of industrial heritage and artistic culture.
