An exhibition displaying changes that have taken place in Putuo District over the years was inaugurated on September 10 to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China.
District Party Secretary Cao Liqiang and Director Zhou Minhao attended the opening ceremony.
More than 700 exhibits that are most distinctive of the times have been selected to show the society development features and people’s livelihood through daily items.
The enameled cups, which were a common ware in every household when the country set out to boost industry, are arranged into the shape of the number “70”.
The first version of China’s currency is also showcased as the district is home to a mint and a note printing plant.
A book recording Putuo’s development history was released the same day.
