May 17, 2019 |

Zhenru in Putuo District recently concluded work to demolish the 129,000-square-meter Tongchuan Fish Market and clean up the subsequent waste.

The project will continue to turn the village area into a comprehensive sub-city center with multiple functions and cultural diversity.

The market, spanning between the Taopu River and Caoyang Road, covered an area of 150,000 square meters and was once the largest market of its kind in suburban Shanghai.

After running for two decades, it was officially closed in October 2016.
