The Shanghai Overseas Returned Scholars Association (SORSA) established a Putuo branch on March 12 to provide overseas scholars and students with a bridge to the district’s economic and cultural development.
Lu Jianfei, executive vice president of SORSA, attended the inaugural meeting, where he gave a speech welcoming the establishment of the new branch. He hoped that it will play its role in promoting patriotism as well as the spirit of the reform and opening-up initiative.
The new branch will make efforts in building a communication and exchange platform for overseas students.
At the meeting, the SORSA Putuo branch passed management regulations and rules, and elected a new batch of council members.
