The 2018 China (Shanghai) International Youth Invitational held a grand opening ceremony on Sunday in Putuo, amid the fever for the ongoing FIFA World Cup.
Altogether 16 teams from 10 countries and regions attended the ceremony.
The opening game was played between the China’s High School League and Hong Kong China and concluded with a tie of 1:1.
The invitational has been held successfully for the third year and is now becoming increasingly popular. This year, matches will be carried out in four districts of Putuo, Yangpu, Qingpu and Minhang.
Caoyang No.2 High School hosts the Putuo matches this year. The school provides accommodation for the players and a smart broadcast system for better viewer experience.
