Putuo District organized the fourth family charity fair recently to raise medical fund for less fortunate children.
The project was jointly started by the district’s women’s federation, children’s foundation, Children’s Hospital of Shanghai and Changfeng Joy City.
This year more than 600 families have signed up for the charity fair. They set up stalls and sold items like books and other stationeries.
Money collected from the sales was donated for medical treatment for children in less fortunate families.
Over the past three years, the project was able to raise more than 330,000 yuan (US$49,699) and it is also becoming a public welfare brand and attracts more participants.
