Putuo students went to Hong Kong last week to participate in the 14th Shanghai-Hong Kong English Language Debate for High School Students.
Students from six Putuo schools debated in teams with their peers from 10 Hong Kong schools on topics from wildlife protection to sustainable development and a comparison between iOS and Android systems.
Shanghai Yichuan High School and Ganquan Foreign Language School came second and third in the competition.
The Shanghai students also visited Hong Kong Baptist University, Golden Bauhinia Square, and other sightseeing spots in the special administrative region.
The debate is an annual event to promote exchanges between Shanghai and Hong Kong students and encourage them to think critically and pay more attention to social issues.
