March 15, 2017 |

To mark the Arbor Day last week, Putuo held a series of activities to mobilize people in tree planting and environmental protection. Local officials publicized laws on wildlife protection and nature reserves and provided flower-growing knowledge. About 100 families adopted old trees in Changfeng Park.

Last year, Putuo expanded its green coverage by 253,900 square meters, planted 1,053 curbside trees and enlarged vertical green area by 30,700 square meters. About 111,400 square meters of public green space was reconstructed.

Efforts were made to enhance green space management, plant trees and shrubs around railway stations, hold flower shows in parks, and beautify roads and neighborhoods with local characteristics.
