Putuo will soon welcome the service of another flagship kindergarten in the district: the Putuo Branch of China Welfare Institute Nursery, which is expected to be completed and put into use in 2024.
It is reported that leveraging China’s first infant care research and training base awarded by the National Health Commission, the Putuo Branch of China Welfare Institute Nursery and the China Welfare Institute Nursery Shanghai Early Education Research Center will extend their services to 6-month-old infants, and provide a professional infant care service experience demonstration and promotion model for the whole country.
The reporter learned that in order to better meet the needs of the people for high-quality educational resources and implement the requirements of the CPC Shanghai Municipal Committee and the Shanghai Municipal Government to "export high-quality educational resources from the downtown area to the population import areas", China Welfare Institute Nursery and the Putuo District Education Bureau signed a cooperative school running agreement in 2021. According to the agreement, the two sides will jointly build the Putuo Branch of China Welfare Institute Nursery and the China Welfare Institute Nursery Shanghai Early Education Research Center and provide integrated childcare services and education for children from 0 to 6 years old.
Carrying forward the nursery running philosophy of China Welfare Institute Nursery and following Madame Soong Ching-ling's educational wish of "Letting Every Child Grow Healthily" and the work requirement of "giving the most valuable things to children",the Putuo Branch of China Welfare Institute Nursery and the China Welfare Institute Nursery Shanghai Early Education Research Center have taken “whole-process early education, characteristic health education, international educational vision and high-quality teaching force" as their nursery building goal, and aspire to cultivate children who are "physically and mentally harmonious and healthy, good at asking questions, thinking and articulation, civilized, polite and disciplined, and have a broad and diverse vision".
As for nursery design, the Putuo Branch of China Welfare Institute Nursery and the China Welfare Institute Nursery Shanghai Early Education Research Center have adopted a design concept of "flexibility and boundary breaking” to create campus space, blur the indoor and outdoor boundaries of buildings, and integrate ecological, artistic and diversified space scenarios, so as to meet the development needs of infants through games everywhere, games anytime and casual games.
As for curricular connotations, the Putuo Branch of China Welfare Institute Nursery and the China Welfare Institute Nursery Shanghai Early Education Research Center will further expand and deepen the health education course practice of China Welfare Institute Nursery under the guidance of research projects, explore characteristic health education activities, nutritious meals for young children, preschool integration education and social development of young children, develop a health education model characterized by nutrition, based on healthcare, combining care with education, and attaching equal importance to physical and mental development, and explore the whole-process curriculum practice of early education for 0-6 year-old children.
As its operations expand, China Welfare Institute Nursery has preliminarily formed a "one nursery, multiple sites" development landscape. As its nursery scale grows, China Welfare Institute Nursery has also established rules and regulations, taken multiple measures to break barriers, and endeavored to open resources sharing channels, accumulating a number of high-quality teachers in the process.
