On the afternoon of March 23, staff from the Consulate General of Hungary in Shanghai visited Putuo District Youth Center. Mr. Szilard Bolla, Consul General of Consulate General of Hungary in Shanghai in Shanghai, Ms. Livia Szentmartoni, Consul for Culture and Education at Consulate General of Hungary in Shanghai, Ms. Dzsenifer Halmai, Commercial Consul at Consulate General of Hungary in Shanghai, and Tang Xiaoyan, Deputy Secretary of CPC Committee and Deputy Director of Education Bureau of Putuo District attended the meeting.
Staff from the Consulate General first came to the exhibition hall on the first floor and visited the “Great God Ox” Intangible Cultural Heritage Lantern Exhibition for the New Year organized by the Association of Little Calligraphers and Painters from Schools in Putuo District. Drawing inspiration from the “Mythical Creatures in the Forbidden City” Exhibition and based on the elements of intangible cultural heritage, the exhibition focused on the theme of great “God Ox”, and helped students appreciate Chinese culture in the process of creation. Little calligraphers and painters used modern art and technology to display intangible cultural heritage, and produced many wonderful works with Chinese characteristics, which were highly praised by the foreign guests.
Subsequently, the Consulate General and Education Bureau of Putuo District discussed cooperation projects. Consul General Mr. Szilard Bolla reviewed the long-standing, profound friendship between Hungary and China, and expressed that the Consulate General attached great importance to international exchange activities between the youth of the two countries, and hoped to conduct interactive exchanges with the Education Bureau of Putuo District in a wide range of fields such as youth sports, science and technology and culture.
Deputy Director Tang Xiaoyan extended a warm welcome to the staff from the Consulate General of Hungary in Shanghai. She believed that the projects with Hungarian characteristics brought by the Consul General would make Putuo students’ campus life more colorful. The Education Bureau of Putuo District will strive to provide proper education for every student, and help them become useful persons for the society and live a wonderful life. After the meeting, the two sides presented each other souvenirs and took a group photo.
On December 3, 2020, the staff from Consulate General of Hungary in Shanghai visited Putuo District, and received a warm welcome from Jiang Dongdong, Deputy Secretary of the CPC Putuo District Committee and District Governor. The two sides reached a preliminary consensus on cooperation in education and sports. On December 24, 2020, the Consulate General of Hungary in Shanghai had a meeting with the Education Bureau of Putuo District and Sports Bureau of Putuo District, and initially launched the cooperation project. The Putuo District Youth Activity Center took charge of the implementation of the project.
