In the afternoon of March 9, 2021, the principals of Shanghai Caoyang No.2 Middle School and Shanghai Ganquan Foreign Languages Middle School were invited to participate in the Online Exchanges Seminar for Principals From Sister Schools in Sister Cities Shanghai and Espoo and gave keynote speeches. The seminar was also attended by leaders from the Education and Culture Department of Espoo, Shanghai Municipal Education Commission, education bureaus of relevant districts, and the principals of 11 pairs of sister schools from China and Finland.
Shanghai Municipal Education Commission signed a memorandum of cooperation in education with Espoo, Finland in 2011, which has enabled Shanghai Caoyang No.2 Middle School and Shanghai Ganquan Foreign Languages Middle School to establish sister-school partnerships with two high schools in Espoo. Since then, the leaders, teachers and students of the two pairs of sister schools have exchanged many visits, established deep friendship, and jointly made several explorations and attempts for the first time. For example, Shanghai Ganquan Foreign Languages Middle School is the first pilot in China that has launched the MOT interactive English learning platform; it successfully held the Second Shanghai High School Student Forum·Cross-Cultural Competency Sub-forum for the first time, providing a platform for high school students to discuss on the prospects of “artificial intelligence”; it introduced the concept of “harmonious coexistence human and nature” to the school for the first time, and built “Creative and Intelligent Learning Center”, allowing students from all over the world to gain new wisdom and design the future in the “forest box”. The teachers and students obtained new and immersive experience by learning more about each other’s societies, classrooms and families.
"We are passionate about building strong relationships, continuously improving our programs in the hope of broadening our students’ horizons, facilitating their creativity and engineering their learning from the world.”
This view was highly recognized by guests from both sides.
Although there is something in the way, we firmly believe that we are all on the way.
